Noah is getting a lot bigger now since Halloween was the last time that we updated the blog. He is talking quite a bit as well. Noah also loves to look out the window at the “big trucks” outside. Generally this consists of the garbage truck and possibly a UPS truck. Sometimes he even calls my S10 a big truck which is nowhere near being true.

Rachel is doing well with the pregnancy. We have a little over a month to wait before we meet the new addition to our family. I think Rachel is ready for that day to be today.

That gives a little update on us until the next time I decide to do something with the site.

Noah is going to be a lion this year for Halloween. I think we are also going to take him trick of treating. It should be a fun time though I don’t know how much of the candy he will be eating. The one good thing though is that he does like candy corns. Apparently he got that from me instead of getting his mom’s dislike for them.

We will also be carving our pumpkin today as opposed to last year when we got a pumpkin but then didn’t end up carving it.

Rachel's Vicarage Year Goals

This will be my first post on our site. We’ve had this site for over two years and i can’t believe I have never decided to write anything. Hopefully that will change.

We are pretty much fully settled in here in Terre Haute. I’m still unsure of how I will handle day to day life without working. Let me just say, Noah keeps me plenty busy! He is a busy boy these days, getting into EVERYTHING.

I have a few goals I would like to accomplish this year. I’ve been saying I’d like to do these things, but when it comes down to it, doing is much different than saying you’re going to do it. I have decided to post these goals in an attempt to keep myself accountable for actually accomplishing them. And maybe I can get some outside encouragement as well.

Goal 1: Stay fit! -I’ve been exercising pretty regularly for the past 2 1/2 months. The baby weight is finally off and I’m actually below my pre-pregnancy weight! I’d like to keep it going though….not necessarily losing weight, but staying active and eating right. There are so many benefits that I have found. They are obvious benefits, but I just have never really been consistent in sticking to a fitness plan. I have more energy and I feel better about myself.

Goal 2: Expand my cooking horizon – Andrew and I have about 5 meals that we eat all of the time. All pretty simple, but I’m getting sick of making/eating the same things over and over again. I also have a fear of cooking meat. I wouldn’t call it a phobia, but I’m just scared to undercook meat, SO I end up overcooking it. I’m thinking a meat thermometer would be a good investment in accomplishing this goal.

Goal 3: Learn to sew – This is the scariest of my goals, because I just have never used a sewing machine. I also need to take the step in getting my sewing machine fixed before I can do much about this.

Goal 4: Start making cards again – I used to make homemade greeting cards, but I fell out of it and I’m pretty sure we have been keeping Hallmark in business. When we spent over $30 dollars on cards for Father’s Day, we realized it would be much more cost effective to make our own. First step, get basic supplies!

I think working toward these goals will keep my plenty busy this year.

To end this post, I would just like to say that Andrew, Noah, and I are truly blessed by all of the supportive family and friends that we have. We are so grateful for all of you.

Love you all,

Rachel
